What’s the point of having a ring pillow? According to tradition…
The history of using a ring bearing pillow dates back to ancient Egyptian weddings, when jewels were displayed on rare ornamental pillows during a wedding. As it became common in Europe to exchange wedding rings, the ring bearer became an important part of the ceremony. The two traditions merged, leading to the pillow being used as the carrying vessel for the rings.
…so it really is not that important to have a pillow. Mr. Yezel and I have a ring dish to “display our jewels.” Well actually to display a quote important to us.
What do you think?
And then our wedding date at the bottom.
|The quote by Robert Sexton reads:
“Across the years I will walk with you –
in deep green forests; on shores of sand:
and when our time on earth is through,
in heaven, too, you will have my hand”
